Sonnets for Ladies and Queens

Am I perfection by your mind designed
Trapped between lines of poetry obscure?
In your dream ideal hermetically sealed,
Such enclosure I’ll but briefly endure.
Does gaze’s mirror distort what you see
Of gracious lady; spritely elfin queen?
With emotions deep as torrid the sea,
Complex and rich is each person’s true mien.
To all conventions are ladies fast bound?
After just rage must a queen abdicate?
In every soul is a paradox found;
All disparities shall time integrate.
If you’re unsettled by this mystery,
Return to the joys of discovery!
